Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit, an Indian actress who is famous for her role in Hum Aapke Hai Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most popular Indian actors. She began her career in the late 1980s, and rose to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she appeared with the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Next, she appeared with Aamir as part of Dil. Early on, as a child growing up in Mumbai's middle class she began to learn how to dance. At the age of 15, she started acting but had a difficult time as a majority films she made were not successful. The actress gained fame and was one of the top film actresses. Following her wedding, she took a brief break from her acting career until she returned. Recently, she had an integral role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the struggles of women in India. Dixit received 8 Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen nominations she received. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. Also, she has earned a name for her social activism.
